Just another note in the battle to get Informix some respect.
Go to google and you can easily search for:
"DB2" and "Supported Operating Systems"
Try to find IBM's corresponding Informix page.
Hope you have better luck than I did.

Here is the Link: http://www-306.ibm.com/software/data/informix/pubs/
roadmaps.html
By copy to Andrea and Jeff, could you please get the Informix
supported platforms link hooked to the major search engines?
By copy to Jonathan, any hints on what may be wrong (user headspace,
etc.), when I double-click the link to download the .zip file,
nothing happens on my Mac. I can grab the documentation zip with no
problems, but not this.
Thanks,
Christine Normile

Go go go Christine!
You're doing a great job!
When IBM announces the bomb-free IDS, any chance of getting XPS as a download too ( and bomb-free ) ?

Thanks for the link ...
Go to the search box at the top and enter:
"Supported Operating Systems" and "Informix"
What do you get back?
I get DB2 ... not Informix ... as the number one item.
At google I can't even find Informix (speaking of IBM sites)
when I do the search.

Of course not; the rule of most-significant/specific-term-first
applies. Otherwise I can come up with a google search proving that
so-and-so favors/disses what-not in any case.
I search "informix operating systems" and the first link takes me right
there.
The fact that IBM often refers to "DB2 Informix" simply gunks up the
search.
And "informix roadmap" also takes me straight in.
If people are determined to see a conspiracy, they will.

Hi,
What about : Go to www.google.de, type in "Informix support operating
system" and let search.
At time of my search the 2nd item in search result list might be one
possible link which point to a IBM web page with some information I am
suspecting you searched for.
Probably it depends on the search words and of course the order of
significant search words...
Don't know whether google.de does have a different engine...
Another try:
What about: Go to www.ibm.com, look for the search area in the header, type
in 'Informix platform Matrix' or 'Informix platform availability' and let
search.
I guess the 2nd item in search result list might be the link what you
searched for...
There is a link to a xls spreadsheet available on there, in which you may
customize autofilter for the word 'IDS*'
By the way, the zip worked for me.
Robert

A better human readable HTML page of supported OS is returned by Google
and IBM if you search for "Informix system requirements":
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/data/informix/ids/requirements.html
On the IDS home page at http://www.ibm.com/software/data/informix/ids
this link is listed in the blue box on the left side.
